Best CCTV Cameras For Protection

The increase in criminal activities that threaten public safety in recent days has called for more installations of CCTV cameras. CCTV cameras also keep your possessions safe, in your absence. Post-crime investigations get easier when recordings are available, catching and identifying culprits are facilitated smoothly. CCTV cameras are very economical in cost so you don’t need to spend huge money to get this amazing feature. It is only wise that one should install CCTV to protect business assets and increase reliability and accountability. But, one must keep some factors, in mind for selecting the best CCTV cameras-

1. Image Quality- The most promising thing in a camera is for sure the image quality, be it any kind of camera. In the CCTV, it needs to be taken special care because, without a clear image, it is not possible for a person to detect accurate imagery or faces. The resolution should always be good, basically between 720p and 1080p. Along with high resolution, a better storage capacity is also needed to record and store the videos of the entire day. Cameras with inbuilt memories are the most favorable.

2. Pan/Tilt of the camera- The modern CCTV cameras have a capacity to rotate vertically and horizontally so that they can cover up a large space around them. The maximum angle of rotation horizontally is called Pan and that vertical is called Tilt. The best cameras generally assumed to have a Pan of 355 degrees and a Tilt of up to 90 degrees. Greater the Pan/Tilt better is the quality of the camera.

3. The probability of a motion and audio sensor- Motion sensors in CCTV cameras are currently not that much in use in the developing countries, but developed countries like America and those of Europe these are of frequent use. They are actually overrated, which makes their use limited. With the presence of motion and audio sensors, the cameras detect unusual sounds and curious movements around them and alert their owners by sending a notification of that on their mobile app.

4. Infra-Red LEDs in the camera-These are small bulbs which are located on the sides of the lens present at the center in a CCTV camera. These emit Infra-Red light at night for vision. The number of LED lights is directly proportional to the quality of the camera recording at night. With the increase of one, the other also increases and choosing ones with Infra-Red LEDs is thus beneficial.

5. The maximum range of the camera- The length of the lens and the size of the image sensor determines the maximum range of the camera. The range of a CCTV camera determines how much distance a camera can cover up too. A range of about 20-25 meters determines a good camera. Cameras having inbuilt hotspot can be accessed by live streaming on the smartphones and can be identified by the presence of an antenna and work within a limited distance.

6. Legal CCTV camera suppliers- It is very important to get a quality product from an authorized seller. Reputed and certified dealers should be looked out for before ordering in a large scale. With the changing times, laws can be introduced to remove all the illegal CCTV suppliers from the market. So, to avoid harassment, a person should opt for an authorized dealer only.

7. Outdoor vs. Indoor and Wireless vs. wired cameras- Indoor cameras are good for homes and offices. These are basically audio-visual in nature and have a dome shape. Outdoor cameras are used for open spaces like the outside of shops, markets, airports, etc. these have the capacity of featuring a large area because of their higher Pan/Tilt.

Wired cameras are of lower price than the wireless ones. These are connected through a Siamese Coax cable to the DVR and have higher durability because of tough connections. Unlike this, mobility and scalability are some of the benefits which can be achieved only through wireless connections.

These are some of the things we should gain knowledge about before opting for the installation of CCTV cameras in any place we like.
